Virtual Server Infrastructure
Virtual Server Infrastructure
The next generation of server environment, replacing the conventional concept of the dedicated server. Intacore provides resources that look and feel exactly like dedicated servers but are balanced on top of a powerful cloud computing platform. We allow you to directly control the amount of processing power and space you use, meaning you don't have to pay for hardware you don't need. Changes to your dynamic server can be made at any time, on the fly, without the costs associated with moving from one server to another, and all resources are available without capital expenditure.
We believe that our virtual servers are the most efficient way to access additional server resources, be it to run your applications or to host web sites and databases.
Because our virtual infrastructure is part of our cloud computing model, additional resources are available at the touch of a button. Need more RAM, more CPU or more disk space? No problem. Each virtual server has access to the full computing power of the grid, allowing you to simply add or remove resources when you need them.
Key Features Not just one server, part of many = high availability Set up in < 5 minutes 24/7 support, leading SLAs Control panel access to management Dedicated high-speed network
Expandable / elastic processor and RAM Unlike dedicated servers, Intacore's virtual servers offer grid computing features, allowing you to expand or shrink your CPU, RAM and storage on the fly - almost like having a super computer! Don't get trapped in a fixed specification, utilise real cloud computing to increase any resources at the touch of a button, as your site or application demands.
How does virtual infrastructure work?
Virtual infrastructure is the next generation of server environment, and is designed to address the inefficiencies of the in-house server model and the limitations of dedicated servers. Doing away with the restrictions and hassles associated with having to own, manage and maintain server hardware, virtual servers instead offer ready-to-use, fully supported server capacity on a simple monthly subscription basis. However, our virtual servers don't have to act as islands - they can be fully integrated with your existing networks to behave as a seamless extension of your infrastructure.

Unlike dedicated servers, Intacore's virtual servers offer grid computing features, allowing you to expand or shrink your CPU, RAM and storage on the fly - almost like having a super computer! Don't get trapped in a fixed specification - utilise real cloud computing to increase any resources at the touch of a button, as your site or application demands.
Our virtual infrastructure servers look and feel exactly like traditional dedicated servers but, because they're based on our state-of-the-art cloud computing grid infrastructure, you have instant access to an almost limitless pool of computing resources. As such, changes to your server can be made on the fly, without any of the headaches or cost penalties associated with moving from one server to another. Thus, whilst you're guaranteed a minimum level of resources, you've always got access to more should you need them.
Additional RAM, CPU and disk space can all be added and removed at the click of a button, without any need for rebooting, providing you with a truly agile, scalable server environment. This means you don't have to over-subscribe in order to provide for seasonal peaks or unanticipated demand, you can just expand server resources as and when they're needed.
Importing Existing VM Infrastructure
You can even import existing Physical, VMware or Parallels servers into the cloud, helping you quickly migrate and rationalise costs without having to add disruption to process.
The key points about virtual server infrastructure
Our virtual infrastructure allows you to grow, and is able to provide you with sufficient processing power at all times. One key advantage is that the 'burst-able' nature of Intacore resources gives you access to significantly higher processor and memory levels than your plan allocations - the grid system works constantly in the background to make processing power available wherever it's required. Just like with a dedicated server, your resources are guaranteed but, unlike a dedicated server, you have much more power at your fingertips and can expand at any time.
Buy as a service
Purchase just like you would dedicated or managed hosting, but buy your resources as a service rather than a commodity.
Clouds are composed of multiple redundant sites, which makes them perfect for business continuity and disaster recovery.

Scale resources up and down
Utilising our grid system, you can increase resources like RAM and CPU when you need them, on the fly, and then reduce them when you don't. virtual servers offer truly flexible computing that lets you take what you need and pay only for what you use - all controlled by you via a simple control panel.
Avoid the trap of buying hardware you quickly outgrow and having to continually migrate from server to server - just scale resources as you need them.
Unlike stand-alone dedicated servers, or managed servers which use local storage (servers with hard drives) and have a single point of failure, Intacore uses pooled grid resources and fibre storage, which means your virtual server won't fail you. Because of the grid computing model, our virtual servers don't suffer hard drive errors, broken fans or corrupted disks. Our platform consists of highly available services usually found in the most expensive enterprise deployments. We even back our promises with SLAs guaranteeing 99.99% availability.
Our Data Centre Facilities
Our Facilities Utilising Worldwide Points of Presence Intacore typically uses Tier 2/3 data centre facilities to act as points of presence ('POPs'), which serve local regions with the lowest possible latency services. Currently we are present in 6 data centres in the UK, US and Australia, with full redundancy between sites using the latest virtualization technologies.
Our facilities have the following minimum specs:
Tier 2/3 carrier neutral data centres Commercial Power Two separate power feeds provided Power supplied from two separate substations. Four transformers at 3,750 KVA each. Four PDUs (power distribution units), each having primary and backup. CPS (continuous power supply) that serves each data room (N+1).
Generator Building can operate at 100% connected load on five HiTecs and two standby generators. Six PowerWave 'state-of-the-art' UPS systems continuously generating power for N+1 redundancy. The PowerWave system feeds redundant switchgear providing power to mission critical loads. Two 2-megawatt standby generators serve facility essential loads. N+1 capacity. One 2-megawatt stationary load bank, for bypass testing and duty cycle maintenance. DC Power System 1600 AMP redundant DC battery system. Diesel Fuel Supply 20,000 gallons on-site. Facility on the emergency fuel list. HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) 3,350 tons total refrigeration capacity with N+2 redundancy (5 chillers at 670 tons each). 30-ton CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioner) units inside our data room. Five cooling towers. Five condenser water pumps Five chemical treatment stations. Fire Suppression Dry pipe, pre-action system enabled by activation of VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Alarm) and / or smoke detectors. Loss of air pressure in the pipes caused by a broken sprinkler head will cause water to discharge only if smoke detection is present. The system is monitored 24x7 by onsite personnel.
